Nokia and Securitas has joined hands to bring a suite of security applications foe everyday consumers’ personal security and safety using GPS and Data technology

There is a large and growing interest for these types of safety and security oriented services. The cooperation with Nokia makes it possible to make our services mobile and quickly reach the mass market, says Magnus Friberg, Director of Marketing and Business Development, Securitas Alert Services, Track & Trace Europe.”
Initially under Securitas Safe 2 Go banner four services will be provided
- Assist (security alert) Where with a touch of a button one can contact the Securitas alarm Central which has the information on who is connected from where and who need to be connected in emergency
- Find (locate person), Find friends location with a touch of a button
- Zone (SMS boundary alerts) Where an SMS is sent when a particular person enters or leaves a certain zone
- Friends (general friend locator) Find Where all your friends are .
So how these applications will be used
For Assist , say If I’m driving and had a car break down or an accident on a touch of button , emergency services can be summoned or my relatives can be contacted . A variant is already in use like GM On-Star services in USA
For Find , I can find where’s my friend when he’s getting late for dinner or my family can locate me wherever I’m . I’m already using a variant through Nokia Vine and Sports Tracker where my family can locate me on the web / google Earth .
Zone : very effective , I can set it up with my kid and see when he leaves the school and when he arrived there , no more school hopping kid ( he’s only 6 yrs old but some day he will bunk school like his old man 
Friends : Where they all are , who is around , they be around the corner or around the world , a best part will be when long distance friends arrive in the city and my phone beeps me of their location , Nokia already showing it as a widget in their N97
