Nokia N8 lands in Pakistan bound by UFone–Price revealed

by Farhan on October 3, 2010

The wait is over and Nokia N8 has officially landed in Pakistan but it’s through Ufone which as per post by ProPakistani will cost Rs.41,900 and won’t be network locked

Now the phone is not bad at Rs 41,900 ( $ 485 /  Euro 350 )  as in Europe it’s retailing for Euro 469 in Italy , Euro 479 in Germany , British Pound Sterling 429 in UK, USD 549 in USD .  Given the world wide prices at just Euro 350 we are getting a 25% discount over world wide prices.

Over the top Ufone is also adding discounted mobile internet for 6 mths ( could be Rs 10 plus tax per hour as with C3 ) and a value box of original Nokia accessories.  However according to SenseApplied sources Ufone phones are wither grey or silver variants not the Orange ones matching their corporate colors.

The offer is only open for uFone customers so get out your old SIM Cards or visit your nearest uFone dealer to have this amazing discount.

Farhan it is bound by network, as I have confirmed from Ufone office.
Its only available to Ufone postpaid customers, or you will have to take a new Ufone postpaid number.

As I’ve heard the phone will be available in open market from this week and the official price will be same as of UFone , y bother getting bound by the network ( you can unlock it by changing product code and reinstalling firmware ) and getting an unwanted connection

If it is getting out this week, I would wait for it. But ufone guys claim that they are offering 25% discount on market price, and the local market in Lahore does not know when the phone would be released here. Infact one big retailer told me that it would take more than a month before N8 is released in PK. So according to ufone, its market price comes to 56k and also matches international price. I hope your info is more authentic. Fingers crossed, anxiously waiting.

Visited Hafeez center today, the guys there told me that the phone would be available on thursday, 14th Oct for a whopping 60000/-. This news ruined my day.
Any further updates on open market price?
