So what is Nokoscope ?

As mentioned on the site , it’s an end to end system for data collection , storage , retreival and sharing .

The project was started in 2007 by Nokia Research Labs and and it records your daily live i.e what are you doing , where you are , who are you with and it stores this data for further analysis.( Don’t worry the information is kept private and is shared with only those who you have authorized)

“Nokoscope provides three major services:

  • Data collection – Client software to collect real-time user’s data
  • Data storage & retrieval – Storage of large amount of data and easy and fast retrieval of it , with custom queries .
  • Data sharing – Data securely shared between authorized users and applications to develop a better experience in future

How this information is used ?

This data will help researchers to better analyze human behavior in the real world  rather depend on surveys where data can be skewed by respondents.

Collecting data from thousands of respondents and when put in main stream hundreds of millions of users is not easy and Nokoscope is capable of running on from a single server to a cluster of computers and capable of fast queries from the collected data

The Result will be better mobile clients , widgets , applications with a Awaiting to add human touch i.e as per user behavior collected allowing for microblogging , sensor blogging and so forth .

The service for now is  developed and maintained by the C3 team to support research and development activities related to large-scale mobile, social, and environmental data acquisition and analysis.

The service is in beta stage and could be requested from  feedback@nokoscope.com

Awaiting to add my self to Nokia’s scope
