OVI Mail on S60

Ovi , the gateway, is Nokia’s Suite of applications offering a range of services including Maps on OVI , Share on OVI  , Contacts on OVI and MAIL on OVI.

OVI MAIL is part of Nokia’s initiative that the next billion users will have their first email experience via a Cell Phone and Nokia is there to assist them with a free one GB OVI MAIL account . As part of introduction , OVI MAIL is already available on S40 phone but S60 were lagging behind .

However I’ve discovered that through Nokia Email client , another free push email service from Nokia , I can use my OVI Mail account on my E71 , just add OVI Mail login and password on your Nokia Email account at email.nokia.com and it will do the rest .

I’ve also tried obtaining it’s SMTP settings through MS Outlook 2007 ( it has auto detection feature ) but unable to do so .

You may find a way to get it running on S60 but it isn’t supported. It is only supported on S40 devices

The servers are imap.mail.ovi.com and smtp.mail.ovi.vom (both using SSL).

I have only had 1 successful sync though with Ovi mail in Nokia Messaging. I can see the messages in the web/imap mailbox, but they don’t come down to my device.
