The Micro SIM Card Explained

I was not excited about the iPAD as much I was excited by the introduction of Micro SIM Device , a 3FF , Third Form Factor SIM Card , a 12 x 15 mm SIM Card which is 52 % smaller than the 15 x 25 currently used SIM Card in phones is developed by the ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) to offer more storage space on chip for applications and security .

Mini Sim Card

As you can see the much smaller plastic card size didn’t made the size of chip small just got away with the useless use of material .

The question is how many devices can use it , for now only iPAD and none other except T-Mobile has announced that they will bring the standard to US , so ATT and T-Mobile but as carriers will they be able to make the device manufacturers to make changes in their design and drop the use of wide spread Mini SIM Card which we use now .

Surely the micro-SIM can be placed into some kind of adapter to fit into the customary mini-SIM slot, if one wished to do so?
