Last week we had our first interaction with Nokia N9 at it;s Dubai UAE launch where we even had the chance to listen to Mr Alessandro Lamanna VP Nokia MEA and Mr Marko Ahtisaari SVP Design Nokia , the man behind the design and concept of Nokia N9 . We also had the chance to ask them questions and here are some things which we found out about Nokia N9 which you should also know .
- Nokia N9 is the first and the Only MeeGo Device to be offered by Nokia , yes there won’t be any other MeeGo device after that .
- Nokia N9s launch price is told to be between $600- $650.
- Nokia N9 is launched in the selected markets due to market dynamics i.e the places where Nokia enjoys a good brand reputation and recognition.
- Nokia N9 intially will be laiunched in Cyan , Magenta and Black colors with possible inclusion of Yellow and other colors in future.
- Nokia N9’s body is made of Poly Carbonate to all all the antennas to work properly.
- Nokia N9’s poly carbonate body is colored to the core i.e. the color resin are used to manufacture the body instead of coloring the white base so even if it scratches , the same color will come from underneath and the color will not fade to white.
- The screen of Nokia N9 is Gorilla Glass so the body may get scratched it’s very difficult to scratch the glass with normal daily use.
- Nokia N9 has a builtin FM Transmitter and Receiver but no software to support it as Nokia thinks this feature is not perfected yet . Like N900 , it’s going to be third party developer software which will enable it .
- Nokia N9 comes equipped with Dolby Surround Sound and carries the Dolby head phone BWH-901 to make full use of it .
- Nokia N9 like Apple iPhone makes use of micro SIM instead of a regular SIM.
- There are currently many popular applications available for N9 including Angry Birds , Asscociated Press etc
- N9 comes equipped with MS Office documents reader but no MS Office documents creator is available , it may get Documents to go or any other third party support.
- Nokia N9 does not have HDMI Out but does support TV-Out through 3.5 mm Nokia Video Cable
- Nokia N9 does not come with a separate sync and charge cable but the micro USB sync cable can be used with the supplied USB Charger adapter to charge the phone
- The camera on Nokia N9 is 8MP Carl Zeiss with Dual LED Flash while it can make 720 p HD videos
- Nokia N9′s browser is Safari Web Kit based and does not support Flash although future support is in the works.
