Infinix Pakistan , a couple of months ago , no one knew anything about this company in the country , then it came launched the innovative HoteNote , the 4000 mAh phone , with an even more innovative approach towards marketing for Pakistan , going only for online sales through Daraz.pk , Pakistan’s leading online retailer , and cutting out the wholesaler and retailer margins and bringing a good device at an amazing price.
With the success of HotNote , Infnix Pakistan is picking up momentum and today at an exclusive blogger preview , gave us the first sneak peak at their upcoming Zero2 handset, which will be launched on 28th July in Karachi – Pakistan.
The hashtag for the launch was #TheNextHero and the Zero2 is definitly a Hero as it’s the only Kevlar backed device available in Pakistan.
Now don’t go trying to shoot down the phone , the Kevlar back is 5 times tougher and 5 times lighter then steel, and beside being used by law enforcment , it’s also used in sports equipment due to it’s high resistance . In Zero2 , the Kevlar back provides an excellent protection from scratches , a non slippery matt surface , light weight without compromising on protection and ofcourse great looks.
Available in Milan Black , Purple Red and Golden color , the Zero2’s Kevlar backing is a thing of beauty , which combined with the aluminum body and it’s 5 inch Gorilla Glass 3 screen makes it a perfect highly resiliant device .
Kevlar is not the only plus point of Zero2 , the 5 inch Super AMOLED HD screen, which is sourced from none other then Samsung , offers rich viewing experience , thanks to it’s 30000:1 contrast ratio , the colors are amazingly vivid. We played a high definition trailer of Jurassic Park on it and the colors were immersive and with it’s Clear Motion , Video Frequency Enhancer , mode in on , the screen action was amazingly smooth.
Under the hood , the Zero2 sports MT6529T Octa Core Processor with 2GB of RAM and 32GB ROM ( there is a 16GB version but it wont be available in Pakistan. For now the device runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat , but they have promised Android 5.1.1 Lollipop to arrive soon .
For mass downloaders and app lovers , there is support for external memory card , which they say is upto 32 GB but with experience , we know it can always be stretched to 64GB .
As we Pakistanis like to keep multiple SIMs , the Zero2 features DUAL SIM capability , which innovatively can be fit on one SIM Tray and supports GSM 850/900/1800/1900 and HSDPA 900/2100 bands , for Warid and Zong 4G users , sorry this device is not for you , but they will be launching a 4G device by the end of the year.
For Selfie addicts ( hey I’m one of them ) there is a 5MP front camera with 84 degree field of view so it can take a wider image and we loved it’s low light performance , for the back , they have a 13MP Samsung S5K3M2 camera with f/2.0 apperture which we find takes amazing macros . For flash their is a High Light Flash LED which we were effectively using as torch which is very important taking the performance of K-Electric in the city .
Unlike HotNote , the Zero2 features ‘only’ 2300 mAH Li-pol ( Lithium Polymer) battery , for those who think it’s too low , it’s sufficient to last a day with good use.
In other features , the Zero2 sport GPS (A-GPS) , WiFi , Bluetooth 4.0 , Proximity , Ambiant and G-Sensor.
Inside the box , the Zero2 contains
- Micro USB Charger with no tangle flat wire design
- Premium Headphones ( didn’t tried but they look good)
- USB Charger with multiple plug options to assist when traveling
When discussing with Jeckie Peng , Business Development Manager , Infinix Pakistan , about after sales service , as the sales is online only , he assured us that if there is a warranty issue , the user can drop it at any TCS center and they will deliver the device to InfinixPakistan who will either repair or replace the device and in the next couple of months they are also planning to open a full fledge service center in Karachi , for which the engineer has already arrived.
Upon my asking , he did told me that the device does support MIUI and can be updated to it’s latest version
According to Florent Meng , Sr. Digital Marketing Manager , Infinix is not focused on quantity but quality , they don’t want to be like Samsung or Q-Mobile and churn out 6 models a month , but more like Apple to have a limited offering , focused on which they do much better , his exact words were ” We can do better when focused”
The Infiniex Zero2 , will be available from next week at an undisclosed price , although seeing HotNote’s Rs 12,900 price we believe it will be somewhere between 15000-16000 range.
What do you think , will the Infinix Zero2 will be #TheNextHero , for me the only deal breaker is the non availibility of 4G as I’ma Warid LTE User , else I would have jumped on it
